I love the design of these cement pearl earrings. Based on the idea of the classic pearl stud, Metsa Design has created a unique piece that incorporates both the industrial and classical. You can check out metsa and their other designs at metsadesign.com

Falling for....
image courtesy of Monica Rose, Stylist
This fall is all about dark lips and leather for me.I'm channelling my inner Ashley Olsen this season, and although I can't afford her luscious Rick Owens leather Jacket, I'm thrilled to rock my new Mackage for Aritzia kenya leather jacket. I've paired it with deep burgundy lips like this one from Chanel....and unless you are on the catwalk, be sure to keep the rest of your face minimal to balance out the dark lip for daytime. And don't forget to accessorize! A statement cuff and a great vintage clutch is all you need to complete the look this fall...
Think ladylike rocker chic....

dance photography by Tarzan Dan
My friend's Husband is an amazing photographer, and I'm always interested in dance photography since I was a professional ballerina before I became a designer. I have never seen any photos like these before and I was totally blown away. The juxtaposition between the background and the dancers is incredible, and the photos have this organic yet architectural feel about them. You can check out all of Tarzan Dan's work on his blog, TDFoto, and you can contact him here.
Erin Wasson Style
I love Erin Wasson's style. This gorgeous model/designer has such a relaxed sense of fashion, its hard not to be envious of how easy she makes it look. Her sense of style radiates from her clothes and accessories to her hip New York apartment, which you can check out here on The Selby. She has also come out with her very own jewelry line, Low Luv , and I'm in love with her knuckle armor ring and silver bone bangles.
Eclectic, effortless and cool, Erin Wasson has a style all of her own.

bangle crazy

Recently Ive discovered a jewelery line called Alex and Ani and I must admit, I am in love with these bangles. They are eco friendly and made of recycled metals, (so I'm going green while I'm accessorizing), and they are adjustable so even my tiny wrists can wear them! they have so many styles, its easy to mix and match them any way you want to. My personal favourites- the I love Rock and Roll collection. Alex and Ani are available in Canada from one of my fave places to shop in BC , Charlie and Lee. They also offer online shopping , so take a look!

interiors
This loft is my husband and my dream loft. The concept is industrial bohemian chic, with lots of contemporary art and mismatched furniture. I love how this loft in the picture above has open air garden atrium in the center. If I could knock a big hole through my loft and build one in, I would! Usually I'm more drawn towards modern design but lately I've been mixing in pieces that have more a eclectic and vintage feel to them. I don't know which piece I love the most in this design. Andy Warhol's brillo pad box and Dali's lobster telephone are two of my favourite works of contemporary art, and I love how fun and playful they are. I can only dream about ever owning art as expensive as this, (if you even could!). The over sized black chair is by Marcel Wanders for Moooi, and the I love texture of the natural wood in this chandelier . Ok, I'm ready to move into it now!
My friend Bobbie just got his first "grown up" apartment, so he wanted something comfy and masculine. We came up with a great concept, a little bit country for that cozy, relaxed feel, but mixed with more contemporary pieces. I love how the lime green pops against the grey and the texture of the knitted wool floor pillows. The wall with the frames is an easy and cheap way to dress a plain wall- just find any old photo frame and paint them the colour you want.
Coraly's space is my newest project and I'm loving what we came up with. Tranquil aqua, the colour of calm, with a dark taupe is what we went for in the bedroom. Cor's a busy Mum so I wanted her to have a space that just made her feel serene and relaxed, and the aqua looks so great against the warm taupe. The pop of a single zebra pillow is fun and flirty, and I always love those accent pieces that are the odd man out in a room.
Artists to watch
I discovered a thesis project for MFA Design and Technology, Parsons The New School for Design. Part of UND-VIS : Under Vision Experiment, it explores a new visual language of an unconventional perspective . Very cool.

Fashion Obsessions du jour
Designed by Nicole Richie, Winter Kate is her comfortable but stylish line of contemporary clothing. A throwback to hippy chic, Winter Kate is about flowy dresses and kimono-esque wraps. I love this Jasmin cardi in the gray frankie print. It also comes in ivory...now the only problem is- can I buy both?!
