ballet in the water photography

This image is Sarah Wildor for the Royal Ballets 2000 production of "Ondine". Choreographed by Sir Fredrick Ashton, it is the story of a water nymph who falls in love with a mortal man. The ballet is not done often at all anymore, which is a shame, as it has a gorgeous , ethereal quality to it and very dreamy music.

I love the ballet Swan Lake, its an all time favourite. This is one of the most beautiful photographs taken for it for the Australian Ballet. It is Odette from Graeme Murphy's Swan Lake ( pictured is former principal Simone Goldsmith). It is an image of her as she sinks, broken hearted, to the bottom of the lake. Its such a romantic but tragic love story, and this image captures all of that.
